A structured visual statement. The density of honey whiskey settles beneath sharp prosecco, wrapping tight around a single geometric spear of ice before the temperatures equalize.
Ice Fact Drop
Botanicals suspended in transparent ice catch and refract light. The visual peaks at 0–5 minutes. After that, the composition changes.
Why This Ice
Sculptural ice commands the glass. Its massive size and minimal surface area prevent the carbonation from flattening, holding the sharp separation of liquid layers in place so the visual remains intact for exactly five minutes.
Ingredients
- 45 ml honey whiskey
- 15 ml fresh lemon juice
- 90 ml dry prosecco
- 1 clear sculptural ice spear
- 1 drop 2% saline solution (optional)
Ingredient Swap
- Original: Fresh lemon juice
- Swap: White grapefruit juice
- Difference: Grapefruit introduces a sharp, bitter edge that catches the light differently, pulling focus from the heavy sweetness of the honey base.
Method
Measure. Shake. Aerate.
Combine the honey whiskey, lemon juice, and saline in a shaker with standard ice. Shake hard to integrate the heavy honey syrup with the citrus.
Place. Strain.
Lower the clear sculptural ice spear into a large wine glass or spritz glass. Strain the liquid directly over the structure.
Pour. Catch. Serve.
Pour the prosecco gently down the inside wall of the glass to preserve the carbonation. Serve immediately while the bubbles cling to the ice.
